My Students

My 4th graders are a wonderful group of students who come from a variety of diverse backgrounds. An increasing majority of them are from low income families. There are also many students who are English Language Learners.

Students in my room learn about science, social studies, and reading.

Our 4th grade team follows a specialized model that has classes rotating to different rooms for separate subjects. All of my 4th graders love the opportunity, and flexibility of dynamic seating and grouping options in my classroom. They feel empowered when they are able to use space and seating to make choices that set their learning up for success.

My Project

I am requesting these stools because they provide smart, efficient, and flexible seating options for students in my classroom. The stools will be used as specific supports for active and low-energy students to help them engage during lessons, when traditional seating may not be conducive to learning. Seeing students move as they work, and seek out different spots and chairs around the room demonstrates the need to provide more options for them to use.

My students need stools to provide additional flexible seating options.

Every student in my classroom will benefit from using these stools at some point. Because of my table team grouping arrangement, stools will rotate between table groups based on a determined schedule that the student groups determine. In this way students will take collaborative ownership over the stool use to help provide fair access that meets everyone's needs.
