It's 90 degrees outside, and if we're lucky enough to be in a room with a window air conditioner, it may be 78 degrees in our room. Without the window unit, it's generally hotter inside than outside. My students are dedicated and motivated, but it's difficult for anyone to concentrate in that heat.
My students are curious and hard-working.
They are from a large city, and many have to deal with heating and cooling issues outside of school. Having these fans in a few of the classrooms without window air conditioners would relieve some of the dehydration and headaches that are experienced regularly by many students.
My students will be able to breathe more easily and concentrate better with these fans. Having fans in our classrooms without air conditioners will help circulate air throughout the room. My students deserve to be comfortable enough to be able to focus on their studies. Even having a single window air conditioner in each room is not enough to cool the entire room. Eventually, I would like to have at least one air conditioner and one fan in every classroom so that the entire floor can have an equitable distribution of cooled air.
Your donations will truly be appreciated by my students because our school is underfunded.
There is not enough money to cover basic items, and you don't realize how necessary something like proper heating and cooling is for student success until you witness it for yourself.
