This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are hard workers and they will thrive with the basic tools needed for them to succeed in my classroom. They are excited fourth graders who love to use manipulatives in the classroom that will enhance learning. They are excited and more engaged when it comes to hands-on math activities and the use of technology. They are able to make a math problem come to life and become tangible, thus making it easier to relate math problems to real life.
My fourth graders deserve as many tools that will help them achieve success!
They each have different learning styles and need different tools in order to be the greatest they can be.
Being in a low income community school, it is quite difficult to get the proper materials and technology that we need to thrive. Students have difficulty completing certain tasks due to economic disadvantages and I want to give them as many tools as possible so they can be the best of the best!
My Project
These materials will make quite a difference in my classroom due to the huge issue of not having enough computers for my students to use. My students use Reflex Math, iReady, and other online resources for multiplication fluency as well as differentiated instruction on a day to day basis.
Getting through centers/differentiated instruction will be a breeze with these extra tools!
Students can turn telling time into a game when using the "time flashcards" and use dice to make learning fun. The dice can be used in a variety of ways in the classroom. Hands activities make learning fun. Also, with flu season around the corner, wipes and tissues are every classrooms necessity!
