I work with small groups of students daily that are in need of intervention and extra help academically. Many of these students exhibit educational gaps which has led to unfinished learning and low academic performance. All of my students live in extreme poverty and lack the basic skills that are needed to succeed. Even though my students are faced with what seems like the impossible to them, they show up daily and try their best. We always have so much fun together while working together to achieve our goals!
My Project
The students I work with already have a learning barrier they need to overcome, and adding excessive heat to this situation makes it an even more daunting task. Having to work in 80 and 90 degree heat makes it difficult for the students and myself to stay motivated and focused. Providing a more comfortable learning environment for my students will benefit them academically, mentally, and physically. Many of my students live without air and proper ventilation and I want to be able to give them more when they are in school learning with me.
