This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are budding readers. During their COVID-19 isolation period at home, all of my children's educational materials were only available online. So, ever since they returned to school after COVID restrictions ended, they have thoroughly enjoyed visiting the library in person to check out and read physical books. My students also love to receive a free bookmark from the library staff each time they take home new reading materials.

I would like to offer my young readers a selection of educational bookmarks on interesting topics that they enjoy.

Each child will select their bookmark of choice when reporting to the Circulation Desk for checkout. This will not only give them a practical reading assistive tool; but, the content on each bookmark will provide students with fun and engaging information to look forward to each time they check out books from the library. Hence, it will amplify their overall reading experience and encourage them to use library services more often. It's a win-win situation, both for students and for library staff.
