My Students

My students are in a rural school district with limited opportunities, but that does not stop them. They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.

My Project

Students will be engaged in hands-on real life scenarios in this curriculum to help them learn the basic life skills they need to be successful independent adults. My students live in a rural community, and they are not always taught how to prepare healthy meals or how to plan and budget for healthy meals and other important life skills like budgeting and sewing. This new curriculum will provide engaging hands-on experiences that will promote student learning and will also help with social emotional skills that have been impacted due to the pandemic.
