Help me give my students play food for our new cooking interest area. We need chef hats and aprons, pot and pan sets and food to use with recipe cards.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our classroom is full of amazing, intelligent, diverse preschool children. Our students walk into our classroom every day full of energy, eager to learn and experience! They are all so very different, and we love each and every single one of them and what they bring to our class.
We are a Title I school, and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch each day.
We are located in an urban school district in Southeastern Virginia. I love teaching this age because often times I am their very first teacher, which means I can, right off the bat, instill a love of learning in these children! They are like sponges, wanting to soak up every piece of knowledge and experience they can! It is amazing to be a part of!
My Project
Our school has a brand new curriculum this year! There are new interest areas that we have never had in our rooms before and there is not funding provided. We have been able to create some things out of basic materials, but we are really lacking in some ways!
Having these new items in our cooking area will help our students learn life skills such as: measuring, following directions, counting, sharing, cooperating, and more!
Our children LOVE baking and cooking for their friends. They have amazing imaginations and are very creative with their choices. We would be so excited to add items to our cooking area!
