Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are from the South Side of Chicago and are part of a program that teaches students with disabilities life skills. This program gives children from all cultures, areas, and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district. My energetic diverse learners enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore. They love learning skills that will help them reach success in life and promote independence. My students are very special because they are always willing to learn despite any challenges they may need to overcome. They never give up.

My Project

These materials will help my students reach success by learning how to prepare food and reach independence. By using an air fryer my students will learn how to prepare meals in a healthy way and learn how to make healthy choices. My students would love the chance to be able to make healthy foods like air fryer fish sticks, apple pies, zucchini chips, carrots sticks and crumbled chicken tenderloins.

The first and foremost thing I want to give all my diverse learners is the opportunity to reach success by learning everyday life skills.

They need to be able to practice with hands on cooking lessons which will improve their quality of life in unprecedented ways.
