This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special because of their enthusiasm for learning. They give their best efforts as they learn important skills required for independence. I teach exceptional students in the LIFE program and we are changing rooms next year. The room we are moving to isn't equipped with the necessary items to teach invaluable life skills. The hot plate and cooking supplies will be used to prepare meals such as grilled cheese sandwiches. The dishes will be used to serve meals to each other and practice etiquette. The refrigerator will help to keep our food items fresh. My goal is to teach my students to make simple items at home to nourish their bodies and minds.
