This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My campus is a Title 1 campus and nearly all of my students come from low-income households, with a variety of cultural backgrounds. My students are mostly English Language Learners and, as a math teacher, I teach students with limited English. Despite the adversities, my students may face, they demonstrate a willingness to learn every day. I love the fact that my students want to come to school to better themselves for middle school and beyond. Some of my students will go off to magnet and private schools.

My Project

My project is to have an overhead projector for my students, who are in need of visual representation. The projector will help them to actually see what is being taught in steps. The overhead projector that I currently have is not working properly. When the students move round the room for their small groups, it starts to shake. When I came to this campus, more than half of the projectors were in poor working condition. Please help me to provide a better learning environment.

The students will love to have a reliable overhead projector that can display the learning objective for the day.
