This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing children between the ages of 11 to 14 making the difficult journey from being boys and girls that played at recess to young gentlemen and ladies engaging in clubs and social activities on campus. The transition from elementary to middle school is a tough one, and my classroom of 36 Special Education students are rising to the challenges day by day, with the individual as well as class goals. We support all our classmates' progress, no matter how small - all gains are worth celebrating! A little positive reinforcement can go a long way in creating and sustaining motivation. They have shown growth from the first semester when we utilized this strategy and I want to continue the positive progress!

My Project

My students will be able to earn time at the multiple Motivation Stations with time they have spent engaged in classroom curriculum and projects while demonstrating on task behaviors and following classroom expectations and rules.

These fun activities will be part of an Earned Reward system that keeps the students engaged in learning activities for Math, Science, and Fine Motor skills with an emphasis on problem solving and using strategies.

The students will enjoy the socialization with one another while being reinforced in social skills and content based learning activities.
