Student at AFS face challenges daily; at school and outside of school, that require positive reinforcement to battle against those challenges and promote healthy future citizenship. We are a PBIS school, and positive reinforcement allows students to make decisions in the right direction.
Students at our school are surrounded by caring faculty that continues to work together for their benefit.
The social skills of the students require an alternative approach for rewards and incentives to encourage healthy choices. Every bit helps when the world seems harsh.
My Project
Our students come from environments where sometimes food can be scarce. For YEARS teachers at the Academy For Success have been bringing in supplies to help feed their students. Once we receive these goods students will have an opportunity to obtain food during the day. Students will receive this food while in class (in order to promote focus) and to take home (to discourage hunger outside of school). We are not a large school so the goods should help provide for our students in a positive way that shows the community cares. Many of our students would benefit from the kindness of funding this project would provide. Thank you!
