Your support helps provide students with materials and opportunities that extend far beyond learning a simple craft.\r\n\r\nOur Crochet Club brings together students from grades 6–8 with a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, and general education students. The club includes both male and female students, creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed and valued. Through crochet, students who might not otherwise interact have the opportunity to collaborate, learn from one another, and build meaningful friendships.\r\n\r\nOne of the most powerful outcomes of this club has been watching students develop patience and resilience. Crochet requires students to slow down, focus, and try again when mistakes happen. In the process, they learn that mistakes are not failures, but a natural and important part of learning. Many students have found that crocheting helps them calm down, manage frustration, and regulate their emotions more effectively.\r\n\r\nThe club has also helped break down social and racial barriers. Students from different backgrounds and grade levels work side-by-side, encouraging one another and celebrating each other's progress. It has been incredible to see unlikely friendships form through a shared goal and a supportive environment.\r\n\r\nBeyond the social and emotional benefits, students are learning a practical skill that can serve them throughout their lives. Crochet can become a creative outlet, a way to make meaningful gifts for family and friends, or even a skill that could grow into a small business or source of income in the future. Perhaps most importantly, students experience the pride and sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something with their own hands.\r\n\r\nYour donation makes these opportunities possible. Because of your generosity, students are gaining confidence, building connections, and learning valuable life skills in a supportive and creative space.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and helping make this program a success.","fullyFundedDate":1768441331183,"projectUrl":"project/hooked-on-calm-crochet-for-emotional-re/9987854/","projectTitle":"Hooked on Calm: Crochet for Emotional Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gibson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3113250_orig.jpg?crop=728,729,x0,y99&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768582428513","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jenifer-tripp"},{"teacherId":3113250,"projectId":9802462,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation to our student-run Den Store. Your contribution directly supports an important learning experience for our students and helps create a positive school culture built on responsibility, effort, and achievement.\r\n\r\nThe Den Store is more than just a place where students redeem rewards—it is a hands-on learning opportunity. Students play an active role in operating the store by helping to organize inventory, determine pricing, and make decisions about what items should be sold. Through this process, they develop practical skills such as budgeting, decision-making, teamwork, and basic financial literacy.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the store supports our school's positive behavior system. Students earn tokens through good behavior, strong work ethic, and positive contributions to our school community. These tokens can then be exchanged at the Den Store, helping students see the direct connection between their effort, responsibility, and rewards.\r\n\r\nYour donation helps make this system possible. Because of your support, students are motivated to demonstrate positive behavior, take pride in their work, and engage in a real-world learning experience that builds valuable life skills.\r\n\r\nWe sincerely appreciate your investment in our students and our school community.
