This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a bilingual teacher serving in a community where students strive to be the best they can while becoming multi-cultural and bilingual it is important to give these students all the opportunities available to succeed. These students are showing how bilingualism rocks.

My third grade students learn in a bilingual setting.

Their day consists of 70% of Spanish instruction and 30% of English instruction. The goal is to learn in Spanish while slowly introducing English and transferring their knowledge into the other language. At their age my students are fascinated with learning through different modalities. My students are spontaneous, creative and very clever. They like to learn, explore, read and research new topics. I want to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences that instill lifelong learning.

My Project

In a continuous effort to help all my students succeed in both Spanish and English these iPads will help my students continue their growth and practice in both languages. In order to excel in both languages my students need oral practice, reading practice, researching, and developing fluency in math. These iPads will help students get that additional help in taking reading comprehension exams as well as reading different books, practice their math fluency, research different topics based on what we are learning, create projects online and incorporating their voice, and listen to informational videos.

Having these iPads in our classroom will help improve academics in both languages.

Giving them the opportunity to learn through technology will motivate learners to persevere and achieve. When a student is engaged and enjoying what they are learning they will seek more knowledge. Please consider making a donation to these bilingual scholars.
