Continued Teacher Education for Continued Student Growth
I need teaching guides like The Reading Strategies Book and The Writing Strategies Book to become an even better teacher and help my students to grow even more.
My fantastic 3rd graders love to learn! I am a teacher in a low-income school district. My students come from a variety of backgrounds: some are English Learners, some are refugees, some come from homes with trauma, others are in poverty. They are working hard to overcome their struggles and grow their strengths.
Reading really makes all the difference in their lives.
Reading can help children learn, experience places they cannot visit in real life, and just relax and enjoy themselves. Many of my students need a boost to help grow their reading abilities. Once they can read independently, their future is limitless!
My Project
After attending a reading conference, I began implementing some of the teaching and assessing techniques that were taught. I immediately learned more about students and began to see results in my classroom. I am requesting these teaching guides to help me better understand my students, their reading and writing, and the next steps of what I should teach them.
By using these books to help guide my teaching, my students’ reading abilities will grow and with it their love of reading.
These books include assessment, grouping, and teaching techniques as well as general classroom management techniques. Many of my students are reading and writing below grade level. These books will help me teach them and catch them up before they move on to 4th grade.
