This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like to create projects with construction paper? In our classroom, we use construction paper constantly, not only for art projects, but also for activities tied to curriculum and to help students deepen their learning.

My students are low-income English learners who enjoy school, but struggle with reading and math.

Most of my students are reading one to two years below grade level. They enjoy learning about new concepts and digging deep into books. I want to help students maintain this love of learning by hooking into learning with fun, engaging projects in which they can create something to show how much they have learned. In order to create these wonderful projects, we need construction paper!

My Project

I am requesting construction paper so that students can engage in a variety of projects to show their understanding of the curriculum we are learning. Students will use the paper to create biography people when studying about an important hero in our American history. We will use it when studying animal life cycles to create the life cycle sequence. There are so many uses for this paper throughout the year.

School is difficult for many of my students and providing fun, creative, unique activities helps create a more positive attitude towards learning and school.

The construction paper will help us to be more creative with our learning.
