Mrs. Rankin from Cleveland OH is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 40 compasses so that they can learn how to construct and understand geometric properties.

Everyday can be used to create a productive struggle. Students have learned to embrace a productive struggle that enhances learning. They look forward to it and have thrived because of it.
My students are honor students in an urban school district.
My students are enjoyable and bring a lot of different personalities to mathematics. They are able to look at math in a completely different way. My students are competitive and love to show their knowledge daily. The environment in which my students learn is a loving and supportive environment not only from staff but the students themselves. My students are eager to learn and gain new knowledge and are not scared to ask a question for greater understanding.
My students are transitioning to the Common Core mathematics standards. Having access to compasses and protractors my students will be able to construct and have a tangible knowledge of the mathematical concepts he/she will be required to know. Performing constructions will help the students see and visualize proofs and theorems that he/she will use throughout the course of his/her mathematics career.
This project will make a difference in my classroom because it will allow me to reach all of my students.
Not only will my students see and hear the concepts, they will construct the concepts which improve with information retention and will help the students construct his/her own knowledge of concepts.
