Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Can you imagine a drab, monochromatic, first grade classroom? Neither can I! Please help us get colorful construction paper to complete our assignments and bring our classroom to life!
I teach 24 enthusiastic first graders from a low income community.
My students are eager to learn and I am eager to teach them, but with continued budget cuts we don't have the basic materials in our classroom that we need to succeed. My students love to learn, especially when math, reading, science and social studies are integrated with the arts. Construction paper is one of the basic components that we need to integrate our academic subjects and to complete daily assignments.
My Project
We will use the various colors of construction paper to complete daily assignments. We will also use the construction paper to integrate math, reading, ELD/MELD, science, and social studies with the arts. We love to learn and we love to do art in first grade, but we need construction paper to complete our activities.
Your donations to this project will help to provide 24 amazing first graders with the construction paper that we need to complete assignments.
It will also provide my students with a basic classroom material that we need to succeed in first grade. We appreciate your support!
