This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are happy, active learners. They are fun-loving fourth graders! These fourth graders are preparing for a world we cannot predict. The future is changing at lightning speed, and they have to have the communication skills to keep up!

My fourth graders have a passion for learning!

They truly love school. They come to school every day excited to learn something new! They love to sit with partners to discuss the books that they are reading. Collaborating with others is something we are always trying to work on!

My Project

All of my students want to meet in groups to collaborate on ideas. They like to sit in circles and discuss topics and ideas related to their books. It is very difficult to constantly move chairs around the classroom. We have 29 students in each class and our classrooms are very small. That doesn't allow much space for them to meet and discuss.

These soft comfy stools would be easy to pick up and move when they need to.

They are smaller than chairs so we can fit more kids around a table when meeting in groups. For example, when the teacher needs to meet with reading groups they could easily bring a stool and meet around the guided reading table. With at least 8 students in a group, you can fit more students using stools than with chairs.

All students need a voice and should be given the space to share their voice. These stools would allow for that opportunity.
