Mrs. Tibble from Fort Lauderdale FL is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
See what Mrs. Tibble is requestingMy students need a quiet time privacy cube, feeling board books collection and mood and emotions mirrors in order to make the cozy area of our conscious discipline area more inviting.

I am fortunate enough to work with the Head Start early learning initiative program. Some of these students have never been exposed to formal education. The children come from low-income families who need to meet specific criteria to be accepted. These children are in need of hands-on experiences that will help give them a great foundation for their educational path. As a teacher it is my responsibility to make learning fun and engaging. With your help I can open up a world of learning that these children could only hope for.
My school is a public elementary school located in Florida.
There are approximately 520 students that are enrolled at the school and identify primarily as Black, non-Hispanic; Hispanic; and Multiracial. 12% of the schools students are "limited in English proficiency." 98% of the 520 students here get free and reduced lunch prices.
These materials will help make a difference in my students by providing them with an area that they can use to implement calming down techniques. The quiet cube will provide a space for students to regulate their own emotions. The collection of emotion stories will provide some problem solving opportunities for the students to read about and the emotion mirrors will help the students distinguish between their feelings. It is so important for students to learn these coping skills during early development.
Learning how to control one's emotional well being is an important skill to learn at an early age.
This quiet area will provide these students with the space and time they need to learn how to regulate their own emotions.
