My first graders love to learn, and they love utilizing technology even more! I am constantly searching for innovative ways to teach and reinforce skills in nontraditional methods. As an educator, it is my job to expose my students to the latest and greatest that exists.
I'm constantly striving to find innovative ways to expose my students to modern technology.
My students are excited about being able to manipulate various forms of technology and eager to produce quality work. They are thrilled about technology and all of the possibilities that exist when using technology. Our school is a Title I school and 100% of our students receive free lunch. A lot of my students don't have access to technology at their homes, so being able to provide them with it at school is a necessity!
Students will use the five Chromebooks for engagement with the first grade standards across all subject areas: reading, math, science, social studies, and writing. I plan to utilize the Chromeboooks specifically to make cross-curricular connections within our International Baccalaureate (IB) planners, during small group instruction, and as a way for students to further their learning outside of whole class activities. The Chromebooks will allow my students the opportunity to further their interests and knowledge.
All students deserve the opportunity to engage with technology to learn.
In addition, with the changing landscape of education, students are expected to utilize technology as an assessment tool. I need to expose my students to the Chromebooks so that they are able to show what they know.
My students are the future, and they need to be prepared with the technological tools to be successful. The more experience working and learning with technology, such as Chromebooks, the better equipped students will be for life.
