Every child should view learning as fun and exciting!
As a teacher in a low-income community, some of my students are faced with different challenges in and out of the classroom. My goal as a third-grade teacher is to make sure my students know that learning is FUN!
My class enjoys exploring new concepts and creating projects to demonstrate their learning. Since my school is in a rural, low-income area, I am always looking for ways to connect my students to the world around them.
Having adequate technology, supplies to support that technology and resources to support our learning is key in making those connections! I am hoping with your support that my class will be able to make more connections with the world around them and enjoy hands-on learning!
My Project
I am asking for a class subscription of Scholastic News and DynaMath.
Scholastic News will help build my students' knowledge about current events and the world around us.
DynaMath gives students a real-life connection to the math concepts that they are learning.
Students love to learn about the environment around them and apply what they are learning to their life.
This includes both current news and parts of history. Scholastic News will allow my students to learn about current events in the world on their level of understanding. DynaMath will allow my students to make real-life connections with the skills they are learning in the classroom. When they see the connection between school and life, understanding and a love of learning happens!
