My Students
This year is unique in many ways. Not only will students be learning in new ways, but I will be working to find new ways to connect with each of my students, during distance learning. I am also new to this school, so I will be getting to know my students as the year goes on.
Through collaboration with my kindergarten team, I know I am about to start working with an amazing group of students.
Since students will be starting kindergarten, this will be their first introduction to school, and because of the new circumstances, they will be learning in a totally new way. I am so excited because I know how motivated and capable this group of 5 and 6 year olds will be as we start this journey!
My Project
These books will be an integral part of our classroom curriculum during both virtual learning and in person learning. My goal is for each student to not only enjoy reading about different people and places, but to see themselves in the stores we read.
Using a collection of books that highlight diverse characters and different backgrounds will allow for an open dialog and lessons centered around diversity and equity.
By using books that feature characters of diverse backgrounds, I can bring these conversations into my kindergarten classroom in a meaningful way.
