Connecting STEM Creations to Our Literature in the Library

Help me give my students these hands-on materials - Building Bricks, K'nex, Brain Flakes, and Coding Robots so that they may creatively express what they are reading with our love for literature in the library.

My Students

Welcome to my school's new Library Media Center! My goal is for this space to become the hub of our school, integrating technology and STEM skill work with our literature reading. Students will explore what we are reading and creatively extend that passionate learning into creations with their hands. My students range from Kindergarten to 5th graders, who all share a love for reading through authentic and integrated learning. Please help give us access to these materials to show off our creative passions!

My Project

I am building a Maker Space in our library for students to express their love for reading through STEM skills in projects that extend the literature stories we are reading together. Students learn through building and creating with their hands and these materials will allow students to create what they visualize while reading - giving them a voice and choice in how they like to learn.

These requested materials will allow students to create with their hands what they feel in their hearts from the stories we read together - creating a passion for learning that is not paper and pencil.
