Help me give my students a necessary piece of their uniform that seems unimportant to others but a hardship to them. Cheerleaders need to feel confident in their uniforms while being covered.
My students are educated in rural farm area. Our school is a Title I school and what makes us a Title I is we are a low-income and high poverty school. We use our community resources to the maximum but the funds are not there to provide for our students' basic needs.
My students are faced with many obstacles every day.
From taking care of themselves while family member or members work to parents who have drug and alcohol problems that cause the children to raise themselves. Where we live, our county has a drug overdose death rate four times higher than the national average.
My Project
The use of the Mizuno shorts are already needed for practices so my girls can be covered but confident in what they are doing. The girls need a good pair of shorts that stay in place and are not a distraction for them when they are cheering, stunting, dancing and tumbling. The shorts have a four-inch inseam so that it covers the necessary parts and covers the top parts of their legs as well.
My cheerleaders deserve to perform at their best without worrying about how they are going to be able to provide for their basic uniform needs.
The short will not only be used during practice but will be used under the cheer skirts. The shorts provided will allow them to be comfortable, confidently and covered during practice and games.
