This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students come to school facing challenges beyond the classroom, including a lack of access to basic hygiene essentials. Without these necessities—such as soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, and other personal care items—students may struggle with self-confidence, focus, and overall well-being. When children feel clean and cared for, they are more engaged in learning, have improved self-esteem, and are better able to interact with their peers without fear of embarrassment. By providing these essential hygiene products, we can remove a barrier that might otherwise distract them from their education.

Our goal for this project is to create a fully stocked hygiene closet that allows students to discreetly access the items they need.

We want every child to walk into school feeling confident and ready to learn, rather than worrying about hygiene-related concerns. By ensuring their basic needs are met, we can foster a learning environment where they can focus on their academic growth without unnecessary obstacles.

What makes our students special is their resilience, determination, and enthusiasm for learning, despite the challenges they may face outside of school. Many come from low-income households, and while their families work hard to provide for them, sometimes necessities are out of reach. These students deserve every opportunity to succeed, and with your support, we can help them feel valued, cared for, and empowered to thrive in the classroom.
