My Students

My students are a diverse group of kids living in Brooklyn, NY that strive to succeed. They speak many different languages and come from various cultures and countries, some even new to the country just learning the language. This year I will be teaching in an Integrated learning classroom, which means there will be two teachers and half the class will be special education students and the other half are general education students. We will also have many students that are new to the country and just learning English. They all come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, but most come from low income households. My students range in all levels of learning. My school is a wonderful community of different learners that all work together to do their best. My students are always eager to come to school and learn new things, even in this new world of education. Keeping them safe and educated is my biggest concern.

My Project

Making your classroom look inviting and well put together is always important, but this year it is even more important. Many of these kids have not been inside a real classroom for over a year. We want our classroom to look like an inviting and happy place to learn. The nameplates on the desk have reference material for the students to use and help them with their math work. The job chart will help the students feel more like active participants in our classroom community.

A bright, colorful, organized classroom is important for a happy and pleasant place to learn!

Please help us decorate our classroom and organize the boards and walls to reflect what we want to happen in our classroom for the entire school year. This type of learning environment is proven to help students feel at ease and more comfortable to learn in.
