Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I rolled up to the middle school and became a part of a great school culture that centers around the Ron Clark House System.

This dynamic house system engages students in rigorous academics while building character skills and community through shared values and friendly competitions.

On the first day for faculty, new teachers popped a confetti cannon to see which house they would join. Blue confetti showered down on me, and I was welcomed into the Blue House of Dreamers-Reveur. The whole school also came together in the gym for our first big event-House sorting. The enthusiasm from the students motivated me to learn more in order to be ready for each upcoming house event.

I would be so grateful for the opportunity to go to the Ron Clark Academy immersion experience to gain a deeper understanding of the effective strategies and carry tools back to enrich our school culture even more.
