My class consists of children age 8 to 11 with autism. A look into my classroom would reveal students working on a variety of skills in small groups or one-on-one with a teacher. They pay close attention to modeling from adults and complete like activities with prompts until independent. These students thrive on structure and routine. Their school day includes a mix of academics and daily living skills with a large focus on communication, sensory management, and social skills.
