Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

To support hands-on learning in our Pre-K classroom, I am requesting developmentally appropriate math and literacy materials that encourage active engagement. Our students learn best by touching, building, and exploring concepts in meaningful ways.

Jumbo Unifix cubes will allow students to practice counting, sorting, patterning, and early addition while strengthening fine motor skills.

Their larger size is perfect for small hands and promotes independent exploration. Number lines will help students visualize number order, build number sense, and develop early counting strategies through daily use and interactive activities.

In addition, alphabet cubes will provide opportunities for students to build simple words, recognize letters, and connect sounds to symbols. These cubes support early literacy while also reinforcing problem-solving and creativity during center time.

These materials will be used in small groups, centers, and guided instruction to support a variety of learning styles. By incorporating tactile and interactive tools, students will gain confidence in both math and early reading skills.

Providing these resources will help create a rich, engaging learning environment where Pre-K students can develop foundational skills through play, exploration, and hands-on practice.
