My Students
This year, I am teaching second grade math. I have a few students who are English Language Learners, some who have IEP's, and a few who have emotional problems. My students face many challenges. A majority of my class' parents can't afford basic school supplies for their children such as pencils, paper, or even materials needed to complete classroom reports. Despite these challenges, my students are eager and ready to learn.
It is my hope that when my students enter my classroom, they experience an overwhelming amount of love and an amazing education.
YOU can also be a part of this!
I was once in their place as I was raised in the same community they live in, and am now trying to give back and inspire them that if they put their mind to it, they can accomplish anything they want.
My Project
This year we are focusing on getting all of our students working on grade level while also providing differentiated instruction for the struggling learners. My classroom only has one desktop for 78 learners. Having portable laptops in the room will allow me to have more students completing their IReady math intervention program more consistently as well as allowing students to move around for small group work.
The laptops are a great way to teach my 21st century learners how to use a computer as well as making gains in their academics to be promoted to the next grade and be on grade level.
