Computers for a Modern Music Classroom

My Project

I’m excited to share an opportunity to enhance our music classroom, and I need your support. This year, I’m seeking two touchscreen computers to enrich our students' learning experiences as well as some new sticks!

Last year marked a significant milestone as I finally had my own music room.

While it was a successful year, I realized that having computers could transform our program. Technology opens doors to amazing online resources that teach music theory, composition, and professional score writing.

Our Montessori environment fosters exploration and creativity. With computers, older students can conduct research and use programs like MuseScore to compose music. Younger students will also benefit from engaging with sites like Chrome Music Lab, which they loved when I taught music in their assigned classrooms.

One of the joys of teaching music in a Montessori environment is the ability to “follow the child”. For instance, a student’s question a few years ago led us to instantly begin exploring music and the brain, which inspired a music therapy corner in our old space.

In our new building, the addition of these computers is crucial to completing our music room and enhancing our educational impact. Your support will enable us to provide a richer, more interactive learning experience for our students.
