Because of your kindness, we were able to purchase new touchscreen tablets for our music program—and with the remaining funds, we even added new rhythm sticks and a beautiful singing book for our choir. These resources are already making a tremendous difference in our students' musical learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the tablets and new materials, their excitement was contagious—they couldn't wait to explore. We'll be using the tablets for musical research, composing with music software, and working with interactive learning apps that strengthen music theory, rhythm skills, and creativity. The rhythm sticks give us hands-on ways to practice steady beat and ensemble playing, while the singing book will be a wonderful resource for our choir as they learn new songs together.\r\n\r\nThese tools are helping us build a classroom where students can create, collaborate, and deepen their understanding of music in meaningful ways. Thank you for helping us make this vision a reality and for investing in experiences that will inspire our young musicians for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1747175590911,"projectUrl":"project/computers-for-a-modern-music-classroom/9251537/","projectTitle":"Computers for a Modern Music Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kristin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9309793"},{"teacherId":9309793,"projectId":9355655,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom music project! Because of your kindness, we now have a brand-new speaker with a microphone and beautiful percussion instruments. These incredible resources have already brought so much energy and excitement to our music lessons.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students first saw the new equipment, their faces lit up. They were eager to start making music right away, experimenting with rhythms, and playing along to their favorite songs. The speaker and microphone allow us to project sound clearly so everyone can hear and participate, and the drums give students a hands-on way to feel and create rhythms together.\r\n\r\nWe are already putting these tools to meaningful use. Students are learning to keep steady beats, layer rhythms, and perform as a group. Our next big step is an exciting one: the students will be creating original songs for younger students, including rhythms they design and perform themselves. This project will let them share their learning through music—student to student, performer to audience.\r\n\r\nYour donation has given my students not just instruments and equipment, but also a way to express themselves, collaborate, and build confidence through music. Thank you for making this possible and for helping us create joyful learning experiences every day.","fullyFundedDate":1747678494683,"projectUrl":"project/we-love-to-drum-and-sing/9355655/","projectTitle":"We Love to Drum and Sing!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kristin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9309793"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106673","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":220,"numTeachers":20,"percentFrplEligible":33,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.6,"schoolId":106673,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Island Montessori Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Island Montessori Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/north-carolina-department-of-education/island-montessori-charter-school/106673"}
