This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Computer science is considered a trade or career path. The kids in my classroom are choosing to be there and want to be more technologically advanced when they go to college. We prepare economically disadvantaged boys for college at our school, and although we are small, we have great students who are putting in the effort and want to go places.

The items on the list are basic necessities to keep the classroom clean, their laptops and whiteboards clean, smelling good, and welcoming.

We want to create an environment where students are ready to learn and have the tools necessary to be successful.

The iPad gives me the flexibility to walk around and provide one-on-one instruction when needed, while my laptop stays connected to the projector for the rest of the class to work. Having this flexibility in instruction makes a big difference in student engagement and learning.
