This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love learning and work hard at it. Unfortunately, often times I do not have materials that would best suit my students' needs. They are a very active bunch and learn best when able to interact with the material kinesthetically.

I'm trying to bring my classroom into the 21st century and keep it student centered!

However, there are still 20th-century​ items that we must have, like notebooks. Most of my students come to school without even a backpack, so I need to provide basic supplies for them so that they can learn.

My Project

Every year my students rarely come to school with any form of school supplies. Most of our school supplies are either provided by DonorChoose.org or by myself. We are in need of composition notebooks.

We will be using composition notebooks for homework, spelling, and journals.

It makes it easier if we have composition notebooks because then the papers don't tear out as easily and get lost. If my students' work gets​ torn out of their composition notebooks, then they risk getting a bad grade. Composition notebooks are also harder to tear up in a backpack than spiral notebooks are.
