My Students

My students come to my school because of its emphasis on the Arts. I teach math so these kids are a little put off by my class before they begin. They come from all over Oklahoma City so they are a diverse group. They all have a passion for the arts and I take advantage of this passion where I can.

Seeing visually the math concepts that I am teaching will be a big help for me in getting the kids to understand the underlying beauty and art in math.

My Project

My students do not all have access to state of the art calculators. I am creating a class set so that every kid can learn to use the best calculator possible for the SAT, ACT, and any Math AP tests. Test outcomes for students improve when they have access and know how to use calculators. My goal is to have twenty-five calculators so all the students in my classes can have a calculator to use and get comfortable with before they take college entrance exams.
