Help me give my students various games that help students learn about, recognize, and appropriately respond to emotions in a compassionate way.

My Project

When students work together to play games it allows them to develop their social skills. I encourage my students to problem solve on their own and only get me if they really need me.

Help me provide a wide variety of games that foster open conversations about compassion and ways that we can respond to others and ourselves.

Students will learn about compassion through a variety of games that help them to identify, acknowledge, and appropriately respond to situation with compassion and kindness. Students will learn to act and appropriately respond compassionately as we talk about different ways we can support each other through the challenges we face in life. Students' success will be measured as students are able to be compassionate towards peers in class.

Positive reinforcement for helpful actions (verbal praise, in‑game advantage, group success) encourages repeated compassionate behavior outside the game.

Story‑driven games can portray characters from diverse cultures, ages, or circumstances. When students role‑play those characters they build understanding of different lived experiences and reduce stereotyping.

Cooperative games require shared planning, listening, compromise, and helping struggling players. Those social skills are the behavioral side of compassion — acting to alleviate others’ difficulty.
