This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our inner city children, though in need themselves, must learn to give back and be thankful for what they have! Our students are in school from 7:30-5:30 learning skills to achieve academically and reach for success. These young children must learn to give back to their community, even though their lives are in turmoil. Our students need to talk and realize that there are other individuals who need help and encouragement as they do right in their own neighborhood. The afternoon enrichment class will be making gifts and cards to enlighten those who are alone and need a reason to smile!
With inadequate supplies, our students will not be able to enlighten our nursing home seniors with creative cards and projects. The children are ready to go beyond where many of our local residents have given up. Our students want to give back, but lack the resources to help create for others.
Our 100% free lunch students have a heart of gold and feeling that will soften hearts. These young children come to school with anger, but yet the need to help others. Our neighborhood nursing home needs hearts to be softened in this difficult time. The obstacle in our way is supplies. With art supplies the sky is the limit to make others smile!
How many times have you ridden by a nursing homes and wished you had time to help? Our students in the inner city have a nursing home in the neighborhood and with their hearts of gold would love to add smiles to its seniors!
Your kindness and generosity would give our children supplies to soar and create for older neighborhood residents who have little!
Your donation would make a HUGE difference in many, many lives!
