My students amaze me each and every day! This kindergarten classroom is filled with students speaking a variety of languages and come from all kinds of backgrounds. Some students are here as refugees from another country, some are currently living in homeless shelters with their families, while others live in apartments with several families.
Despite their circumstances, they come to school each day ready to learn with a smile on their face!
My students work hard each and every day in order to get ready for first grade. Each student has similar but different goals to achieve each day and everyone is making progress toward their goal. I want all my students to be proud of their accomplishments no matter how small.
My Project
My students are in need of first aid supplies for the upcoming school year. As a kindergarten teacher, we go through tissues and band-aids very very quickly during the school year. I am hoping to stick up enough so that we can get through much of the school year. I am also hoping to add a communication piece to this with the walkie-talkies. There have been a few instances at my school where it can be difficult to get in touch with administration during an emergency. Multiple times during the school year there will be a serious lack of communication between myself and the office, whether it be about a dismissal problem or a medical issue. I am hoping that I could use these walkie talkies as a line of communication and have another in several important administrators in my building. I would like to be able to communicate with the school nurse, secretary, principal, assistant principal, and school adjustment counselor. If I were to have a direct line of instant communication with these people, it would greatly increase the safety and well being of my students.
