Help me give my students paper and crayons to continue to be creative during these trying times. Envelopes let them communicate with family that is far from home.
We are located in Virginia and have a mix of students from all walks of life and social emotional need. Being a high military area students from all over the world come to our classes. We focus on kindness with our students.
During this time we have a lot of students in low income home with out supplies to complete projects.
Our students enjoy being creative and communicating with each other. Many of our students are away from extended family due to military roots.
My Project
All of our students are currently quarantined at home. The quarantine was unexpected and all of the student's desk items and pencil boxes are still at the school. The school has provided pencils along with a work packet for students to work on during this time to continue learning. Many of the students don't have any art supplies at home however.
I would love to be able to send every second grader in our school an envelope with paper and crayons so they may continue to enjoy creating art.
Each packet would contain 10 sheets of colored paper and 10 sheet of white paper and 8 crayons in a sandwich bag. It would also include envelopes and stamps so they can send their art work to family and friends. Staying connected in this trying time is important and not all of our students have access to technology to do that.
