My students are excited to be learning, engaging, and interacting in a pivotal year. They are the sweetest students and they are always wanting to help others. We are a Title I school where 54% of our students receive free-reduced lunch. This doesn't hinder any of my scholars from doing their best!

"Look at these new books!!!" my students exclaim every time we add books to our classroom library. We are a community school with a growing English Language Learner population. Our classroom is lucky enough to have students from Haiti, Cuba, and Uzbek. Despite the economic challenges my students face at home, they bring an abundance of joy and energy through our door daily.
Despite the challenge of a high stakes testing grade, my students are always eager to learn, explore, and engage. They thirst for experiences that make them even more engaged. They are loving of each other and are always helping each other strive for excellence. I am blessed with the task to provide this class with creative, active, engaging and quality opportunities.
My Project
My students love grabbing a book and getting lost in the pages. This year we are focusing on finding comfortable seating that will encourage all different types of learners. I'm requesting a Flex-Space Comfy Couch so that students can find where they learn best. I mean who wouldn't want to relax on a couch with a good book?
Flexible seating will allow students to choose where they are most comfortable learning.
It supports collaboration and communication between students. With the rigor of third grade comes the stress of taking their first high-stakes test. To offset this reality, offering flexible seating will enhance our positive learning environment. Empowered students will have a direct impact on student achievement. The world is changing in a fast paced way and we want our students to keep up, we want students to problem solve and we want them to be able to reason for themselves. Giving students their optimal learning environment through flexible seating, will make happy, life-long learners.
I look forward to seeing the smiles on my students' faces when I offer more seating options to create a positive class environment for each of my students.
