My Project

I am a high school special education teacher hoping to provide more flexible seating and sensory access for my students with disabilities. My students have significant academic needs, on top of other disabilities that impact their ability to focus and stay seated for any length of time. A majority of my students are from low-income families. I teach at an all special education high school with students of varying backgrounds and disabilities. Each student is uniquely different and special. This is why I would love to provide them each with just as unique seating options.

I hope to provide the tools in my classroom to help keep all students, safe, happy, and better regulated to learn.

By providing flexible seating options will allow my students to opportunity to move around more and change sitting locations throughout the day. This will help to keep focused and get more from each and every lesson.
