I have a wonderful group of highly energetic 3rd graders. They love to be able to move around and be comfortable as they're learning. This group does not work well in a traditional classroom setting. They work best having a variety of seating options and being able to have choices in where they learn best.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds and financial situations.
Many students receive free and reduced lunches. These students love learning and I want to give them the best learning environment to achieve their academic goals.
My Project
The soft seats and bean bags will allow my students to feel empowered by having choices of where they will learn best and be comfortable throughout our classroom; beanbags and soft seats. Students who feel empowered in the classroom typically display better behavior and will work harder.
There are numerous benefits to flexible seating such as the burning of more calories, using up extra energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving their core strength and posture.
I want my students to have a classroom where they feel empowered and can make choices for themselves to better prepare them for the real world.
