Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a hardworking group of kids who strive to be learners, readers, and thinkers. My students attend a high poverty school in which 100% of students qualify for free lunch. They are eager learners, despite some of the difficult challenges they face on a daily basis.

One of my students' favorite parts of the day is our Morning Meeting time where we spend time together building community and learning how to get along, work together, and become family at school.

Most of my students' parents work full time, and struggle with the English Language, so although they want to help their children, many struggle with how to accomplish this. My students' parents want their children to succeed in school so they can have a better life!

My Project

When a reading area looks inviting, they will read. Time to spruce up a comfy area to read and organize books. Fortunately, my students have access to many great books. I have a nice rug and now these chairs and bookcase will revitalize a drab area.

While I brighten up the reading area, time to brighten the letter and number stamps.

They are in need of fresh new ink pads. Kindergarten classrooms get lots of use and it’s so nice to restock with fresh clean items every few years. Thanks for helping to brighten a reading area in new readers!
