Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students a comfortable, clean, and calming environment. My first year of teaching the KIDS Program has taught me so much, including what my students need. I've realized the need for sensory items and areas of all sorts as ways to help my students self-regulate when they have strong emotions. The carpet will not only add a calming and comfortable aspect to the room, but it will help each child to know where to sit at circle time, which has been difficult at times with our plain rug. The sensory wall and fish will help my students to be calm in our calming corner and sensory areas. The splash mats will make sensory table experiences even better, safer, and easier to clean up.

Ultimately, my students will not only have an environment that helps them to be calm, but it will be safer and more conducive to learning.
