Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school has a diverse group of inner city low income students. Our school is the lowest income school in the district. We have very high expectations for our school. We have created a structured safe learning environment in order for our students to get the best learning. Our students enjoy coming together to learn all sorts of things. We use our carpet spaces for a plethora of learning opportunities from reading stories to having math discussions to just plain relaxing. Close to 100% of our students are low income, we are a Title I school. They are energetic and ready to learn many new and exciting things! Thanks for your interest in my class!
My Project
Our carpet is a place for all types of learning. We meet there to read, chat, for class academic lessons and just to relax and hang out. The present carpet was a hand me down and it is getting old. Having these carpets will make it a more pleasant, inviting, and comfortable place to learn as well as a reading corner. The extra class supplies such as jumbo pencils, watercolor, fadeless art paper, whiteboard markers, and fingerprint paper will help with having art and writing materials for everyday learning. All of these items will be used daily in all areas of academics. Thank you for your help and support in making our class inviting and comfy!
