Flexible seating has made a big difference in my classroom. There are yoga balls, wobble stools, and regular chairs. The only place my students aren't comfortable is the hard, tile floor. When I was a child, my favorite place to do school work was the floor. I'd like to give my students this same option in our classroom.
With your help, I can create a space that is warm and welcoming, so that my students feel like they belong.
Right now, our classroom is appealing, but not cozy. The large rug will be used for my small group learning center, and the small individual, round rugs will give students the ability to create a comfortable spot anywhere in the room. The runner will be placed in front of our bookshelves so that students can sit while browsing and choosing their books. There is already a place for everything.
