My Project

My students attend school in an urban, high poverty, low-income district. District wide, approximately 73% of our students qualify for a free/reduced lunch prompting our Title I status. Despite this, our students are strong, resilient, clever and energetic. Our school includes grades nine to twelve with a population of approximately 2000 pupils. Within our school, we enjoy a wonderful mix of students from various ethnicities, religions, and socioeconomic status, providing our students with a worldly, and diverse perspective. We strive to develop positive attitudes and create responsible students who grow into independent, decisive citizens and lifelong enthusiastic learners.

A classroom's physical environment and the resources available in the environment play a large role in the education of today's students.

All children deserve to learn in a classroom where they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Being able to provide basic hygiene products and school supplies has helped my students thrive. It will give students the opportunity to relax and focus on becoming the best learners they can be because their basic needs are being met. Thank you for your time and consideration!
