My Students

This is my second year teaching 3rd graders! Our school services students in grades K-12. My students are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. As a teacher from a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking for ways to bring experiences to these students that they may not otherwise be able to have.

Our school district is a low-income, high poverty district with more than 80% of our students eligible for free or reduced-price school lunch.

My Project

My student chairs are very old and are constantly falling apart. Our school does not have any extra chairs that are the right size for the student desks.

The donations to our classroom will increase the safety of students while they are learning.

An uncomfortable student, is a distracted and unproductive student. If they are focused on their seat or the broken plastic that they are sitting on, they will not be productive in learning.

My students will be able to focus on learning and not worry about what they are sitting in. They will feel safe and comfortable. Comfortable students are engaged students.
