My students need a structured learning environment. This rug will help my students be confident in our daily routines. The bean bag will help provide my students an enjoyable and comfortable addition to our reading corner.
As a first year teacher, I am thrilled to be able to see the potential of all of my students. My students come from low-income families and are from various cultural backgrounds. Many of my students will have families who are not native English speakers, and many students who are learning English as a second language.
I want to instill a love of reading and writing through multiple modalities and engaging learning experiences.
To do this, I will have many large group lessons and activities that will promote collaboration, active listening, and interactive learning. So far, this year I have seen students get excited about learning about plants and animals, engage in our reading centers, and use different manipulatives to work with adding in math, and learning about many of our American Heros. These kids deserve everything the world has to offer and I am excited and determined to give them everything that I can.
My students are active little learners. Some things I am wanting for my classroom is a gathering rug, and some comfortable chairs for our reading corner.
The rug will help provide structure and a comfortable place for my students to gather.
They will be able to have their own spot, and will be seated in a way that will help them be engaged in lessons yet comfortably spaced to not be distracted by other students.
The bean bag chairs will be a helpful addition to my students reading/library area. I want to instill a love of reading in all of my students, so I believe it is important for students to be comfortable and value their special reading time.
